I got to see a bunch of my favorite Yelpers, meet a bunch of then IRL for the first time, and even a few I am now going to have to look up on the site because they were so cool in person. The list for each is too long to shout out and if I started, the Oscar music would cut me off. So if you were there and I talked to you, or even just made eye contact, then we're good, ok?
And then, after staying around a while after the Freeness Of Great Things ended, I got to meet my evil twin (who is more nerdy than I am, if that is even possible - and who also tried to rival me in everything, which makes him more competitive than I am: I didn't think that was possible either). But more importantly, I found an awesome bar that has Syracuse Middle Ages Pale Ale on tap in NYC. Thanks Amy (cue Oscar music) for organizing!

I love the 5 napkin burger here. It's one of the best burgers I've ever had. And the fries, oh the perfectly seasoned fries! The bread is very good too. And the brunches are pretty awesome too, if you can get a seat away from the UWS spoiled children. I suggest going on a weekday for lunch if you can get away for it.
But just pray you don't get the waiter whose mouth smells like ass (sadly, this is not an exageration for effect - it smells like sh*t) from all the cigarettes he must be smoking. At least I hope that's what it is. If you get a woman as your waitress, you are safe.

And the iced coffee was good, but way too sweet. Next time I know to tell them to tone it down a bit (it felt like 4 sugars or more).
$10 min on credit card charges, to which they add "8.65% sales tax," which is actually higher than the 8.375% that is NY state sales tax. It also makes it sound like they aren't charging sales tax on cash items. Bonus.

Neptune Diner
Category: Diners
Neighborhood: Queens/Long Island City
I let them continue to pretend they have been voted the #1 Diner by the NY Post or some such paper, and they let me use them as a landmark to tell people how to get to my incredibly close by apartment. It's an unspoken agreement, but as long as they keep that true New England Greek Diner experience I grew up with alive, I'm not going to say anything to ruin it (it is a lot better than some other diners I've been to in this city though - both food and service).
The main difference, however, between the Diners of CT and Neptune is the pricing, which may make you question everything on the menu. But you know what, it's still cheaper than a train to CT to relive my youth. And my CT Diners never had octopus you could trust. I've seen others eat it and live to tell the tale.
As for the food, it's Standard Diner Fare for me. I stick to the American breakfast type things (eggs, bacon, pancakes), burgers, and the occasional Turkey Club. It's like soul food for the Yankees.
But -1 star for those 2 person booths. I'm pretty tall, but those tables are right up under my chin and just too close to the chest for comfort. I hate how they always sit me there. And the waiters are nice, even when they accidentally forget you're back there in that corner. You can't be afraid to be vocal to your waiter here: they get busy. That's what happens when you have a giant banner proclaiming to be the best Diner in NYC since Neptune himself retired after not being able to keep Odysseus from his wife back in the day. At least, that's what the banner used to say. Honest. It has nothing to do with being open 24 hours and 2 blocks from the Beer Garden and right under the Subway.

(She being my friend who talks about yummy sandwiches. Gutter-brain). But since you went there, yes, they are cheap too, just like my friend.
Also, they have the GuS-es (Grown Up Sodas), which are fantastic. Get one.

Tokyo Japanese Restaurant & Bar

They always give you a free miso soup, and sometimes, the ones who know me well (I go here a lot), give me a free soda too. The non-sushi items are very good too, particularly the tempura and the giant soups on a cold winter day.
It's rarely crowded, and the decor is "Let's look Japanese like everyone else," but the food is what really shines. Delivery has never been more than 15 min, and if I go pick it up, it's ready in less than 10 minutes.

This is my 100th review, and I decided long ago that I was going to have to review My 100th Review for my 100th review. I like things meta like this. Also, I like closed systems. As a super nerd, I may implode on myself after I click "post it." If I go missing, this is the case.
So far, so good. No typos, grammatical errors, or the dreaded fatal syntax error. 5 stars for this very review seem to be in order. But it could be funnier though, -1 star.
